OPAL Shelter is a subsidiary of OPAL Build, a prefabrication construction company based in Belfast, Maine. OPAL Build specializes in Mass Timber and panelized Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) building envelopes that meet the highest standards of energy performance and sustainability. Our building envelope systems are all-wood, fully recyclable, zero waste and include natural wood fiber insulation. Our automated production is fast and flexible; the panelization process is completed in our manufacturing facility, the panels are shipped to your location where they are assembled onsite. OPAL Shelter and Build are sister companies to OPAL Architecture which was founded in 2008 as the architecture half of a groundbreaking design/build company and then launched as an independent architecture firm in 2019. Based in Belfast, on the coast of Maine, we maintain an unwavering focus on design excellence while continually striving to achieve the highest standards of building performance and occupant comfort and well-being.

TimberHP by GO Lab, a privately-held, building products company, was founded in 2017 with one purpose—to manufacture high-performance, wood fiber insulation for the first time in North America. Our boards, batts and loose fill, building on wood fiber’s two-decade legacy of proven market success in Europe, offer best-in-class insulation solutions—safe, cost competitive, sustainable. TimberHP is a value-added, innovative product line for Maine’s new forest economy.
